The New 2013 BMW 335i F30, Sport Package, 6 Speed MT Goes Up on the Rack at the GSR Autosport, Lake Forest, CA Facility

LAKE FOREST, CA, February 4, 2012 – Thanks to everyone who made the trek out to the GSR shop this Saturday. We got our flashlights out and went through every nook and cranny of the new 2013 BMW 335i F30.

Up on the rack we checked out the exhaust flapper valve – easy mod for those of you who want to lock it open.

Rear sway bar is miniscule – of course contributing to the cars inherent under steer. First on our performance parts development plan is a new sway bar setup to balance out the car. Rear toe link was a fit flimsy – another necessary upgrade for those of you putting these on the track.

Routing of the intake is like a maze. We suspect to see some improved breathing apparatus from the usual suspects on the market soon.

The new engine cover looks a bit bulky but when removed you realize why - lots of sound deadening material to shield the sound of the direct injection system and a host of other engine ticks and swishes. Maybe we’ll see a nice aftermarket one and shed a few pounds from the top of the motor.

Just can’t get used to the new hood cut line. First the grill was incorporated into the hood. Then the hood cut line was moved to follow the top of the grill. Now it cuts straight across. I think they’ve gone one step too far and the aesthetic was lost.

We’ll now be ferreting away on development of a new suspension package for the F30. If anyone brings one of these home and wants to be part of our test program, give us a call. Free stuff!!!

We had an extra treat to tease our obsession - a 2012 Audi R8 Spyder. Let's just say, it doesn't suck.
